This wine is made from Pigato grapes grown partly on predominantly clay soils with schist rock, and partly on clay-limestone soils, all facing south/south-west and located 900 meters from the sea.
The grapes are harvested from early to mid-September and vinified with skin fermentation, as was traditionally done in the past. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and 20% whole clusters for approximately 7 days.
The wine is unfiltered and unclarified, then bottle-aged for at least 6 months. On the palate, it is rich and enveloping with final notes of almond; on the nose, it is fragrant with yellow fruit aromas.
Vis Amoris
The love for a harsh yet generous land; a dream that seemed like a challenge: to produce a special wine from a special land, capable of expressing its colors, flavors, aromas, and emotions.
Pigato and its many expressions are chosen to showcase its qualities and versatility. A clear decision, embracing a dream with the strength and spirit of a family who chose to shape a life project, nurturing it with respect, expertise, and innovation.
The Tozzi family restored lands with an ancient winemaking vocation and cultivates them according to the strictest principles of organic farming. In 2008, they built the winery where they vinify all of their Pigato wines.
